Alcoholism to comatose

in #steemstem6 years ago (edited)

Today, I will be taking on some sci related issues. Often times I think excessive drinking may just make you lie down and sleep if you've not been having enough rest but Hell No, it may bring some health issues.

  • Alcoholism

Alcoholism can simply be defined as a chronic addiction to alcohol of various types leafing to fading or deteriorating health conditions and social functions.

We can also term it as acute alcohol poisoning.

In the society we find ourselves today, many a times, we see large number of people in gatherings/occasions & merriments. The general belief is that if there's no drink/alcohol in a party, the party is not for human. That means alcohol is an integral part of any social function.

I wouldn't say taking alcohol is bad or is an health risk cause a times, medical practitioners will advise patients to take a prescribed level of hot drink (alcohol) or a times a leveled dosage of palm wine. Everything has its own precautionary level be it good or bad. Excessive intake of alcohol leads to weakened functions of the brain cells. That's why you see drunkards walking in a zigzagging way. They often take in toxic substances which affects the metabolic system that reduce level of oxygen due to the level of intoxication. This will bring us close to discussing Coma/comatose.

  • Coma/comatose

A coma is a deep state of unconsciousness. It can happen as a result of a traumatic accident, such as a blow to the head, or a medical condition, for example, some types of infection source

A drunkard will normally be imbalance and loose control on changing his/her state of rest I.e there's an alter in his state therefore there's mobility of the object or the individual in question. During this imbalance movement, he/she may hit the head on the wall or floor or anything that may cause damage to the brain cells. The person may be drunk and still be riding in the car & from the above definition of coma, it reveals that a blow to the head in cases of accidents which may be traumatic will likely lead the patient to a vegetative state which may also be called COMA.

Traumatic brain injuries, often caused by traffic collisions or acts of violence, are common causes of comas. Stroke. Reduced or interrupted blood supply to the brain (stroke), which may be caused by blocked arteries or a burst blood vessel, can result in a coma source

With this knowledge, I would advise many of us that has replaced water with alcoholic drinks to note the traumatic effects this unhealthy habit may cause them.

Prevention is wiser to finding the cure

Hi, your writing is good, but it will be even better if you can elaborate more on the topic.

  • You can make an introduction to alcohol first before jumping into the main entree.
  • Before explaining about comatose, maybe you can tell some specific about alcohol intoxication. How much is needed for a person to get drunk generally?
  • I think you forgot to put your article's references perhaps?

Put more thought into your article, and you can make it better. Good luck and have a good day.

Thank you @chloroform, i will adjust in my next writings

2 things: Saying a pixabay image and then having the link go to esteem kind of ruins your citations. You should link directly to the pixabay page (not the images themselves). The second is you should include sources with your posts.

Aside from that I agree with Chloroform!

Thank you for the corrections, i will surely adjust and make necessary corrections in this and my next sci articles

You are spot on with this:

The general belief is that if there's no drink/alcohol in a party, the party is not for human

Alcohol can certainly work for shy people to feel a little bit more relaxed in social gatherings. But drinking too much of it is disgusting.

Around 2 weeks ago I drank a little bit more than what is recommend and the feeling of being drunk is very annoying, I totally regretted drinking all that alcohol.

The levels at which we handle our alcoholic control level is quite different from each other, a sip might kill MR. A while a crate of beer may not be enough for MR. B. Thanks for reading @dedicatedguy

Alcohol is deadly. But does it have any positive effects on brain? Or what is the ratio of positive effects of alcohol on brain to that of negative effect. Thanks for the write up.

A times, its medically recommended not necessarily oral intake, sometimes it might be applied on the skin as directed by the doc. Thanks for reading @goodywise4-eu

Really I agree with your point , prevention is better than cure. Consuming a small amount of good alcohol is good for health , if if it crosses the threshold level then problems would haunt us . Good write up friend , thanks for bringing awareness in people :)
