
If there are things that can prevent the internet of things from changing the way we live or the way we work, it will be a security break down, when we searched for internet of things, this is one of the information that appears. Everything around us is been surrounded by new smart devices that make our day to day work easier but surprisingly the also develop new security issues.
The internet concept came out as APRANET in the year 1960, which is a web of linked computers at United State Department of Defense. This was first used for commercial purposes in 1990 and later use as World Wide Web publicly. Presently, effort are been made to create smart devices which can be connected through the internet inorder to make some great impact in different sectors such as medicine and healthcare, transportation, energy, manufacturing and so on. This developed smart devices will be able to allow us to control them remotely and will make them more efficient using operational data but they can be vulnerable to hacking due to the fact that they will be connected to the internet.
Some security challenges to IOT
Several IOT devices were hacked in October 2015 by some massive botnet. A malware source code was released by a hacker which will scan the internet continuously for IOT systems which were protected by factory default or usernames and password which were easy to crack (hardcoded) before finally taking full control of their operating systems. There are lot of similar concern which have been raised at smart homes with IOT devices which may be used in thermostats and other instrument altering. Likewise of CCTV cameras which could be hacked and serves as a potential threat in performing illegal surveillance and monitoring.

IOT nature of security challenges and how it can be fix
The number one concern for security challenges for IOT devices is hacking, manifesting in instrument manipulation. As there is increase in the number of connected devices, it proportionally increase internet of things security risk. The main IOT tech company challenge is figuring out how communication in IOT realm could be made secure. It has been in expectation that by 2020 thousands of zetabyts data should be generated because of Internet of Things. More and more information will have to be store in the cloud as more users keep connecting to internet of things. Tampering of device can also be an issue to IOT manufacturers, since this devices are small devices which are integrated into other systems eg light switches etc.
To solve this problem, we first deal with the software and hardware part of IOT devices, chip security are been introduced by companies in form of improving operating systems. Our hope is that one day, in-built learning machine in this devices will be preventing hacking instead of just been use to control them
Another aspect in solving the problem is increasing the communication layer which can allow machine to machine communication to take place within the internet of things device. This is very challenging due to the fact that there are enormous range of communications and device capabilities. Inorder for this to be dealt with , firewalls system which will be capable in preventing are created to examine and detect unwanted intrusion in the network which can also prevent envious activities over the communicating layer.
