Let us be realistic on this part now, it might be weird but it’s true. There are some who will visit you, and when they pull off their shoes, oh my goodness, it would be like a cloud of darkness has covered the entire environment or it would be that an odoriferous saga has entered the arena…do not mind me as I would be using the term “odoriferous saga” or “Volatile organic compounds” it might not rhyme with your language but it describes such smell and It makes me happy when I use such words for disastrous odors.

Meanwhile, some shoes can kill all insects in the area, if you are having insect problem and you notice that a friend of yours has this odoriferous saga shoes, just take the shoes and place it in that environment. After 20 minutes, come back and you will discover that the insects will be dead….smiles..am joking

But come to think of it, this is science. For such stuff, there is a science behind it…your feet can’t smell for ages friend! It is impossible, you have to take a step forward. You can’t just pull your shoes and someone from 2 miles will be inhaling such volatile organic compound oozing out from your shoes…Trust me it can lead to premature death for the inhaler, not to you the “producer”

I came across an article that describes the world professional feet inhaler, as she considers it as her job…oh, that gift is spiritual don’t you think so? But I must say, she is blessed as she holds a record of sniffing 5,600 feet. For 15 years, she has been doing it. Her name is Madeline Albrecht.

Such people are hard to find. So let’s get into the scientific aspect of this feet smelly…After reading you should take a step if you are in this category of VOCs (Volatile organic compounds).
Smelly Feet also knew to be medically called bromodosis and it has no friend as it affects anyone who invites it. So what’s the cause of this smelly feet?

Each foot contains sweat glands of about 250,000…where is that coming from? The function of sweat glands is to keep the body skin moist, to regulate the temperature of the body when you are exercising or when the weather is hot.

Apart from the body, it is considered that there are more sweat glands in your foot, I mean your foot. You are thinking if it is yours, yes it is. Unlike the body, the feet secrete more irrespective of heat or exercise.

The feet start smelling when bacteria’s that’s on the skin begins to break down sweat when it is coming out from the pores. As the sweat starts decomposing, the odoriferous saga starts coming out from your feet to pollute the environment.

The Main Causes of Smelly Feet. Disaster! Run For Your Life!!! Incoming……!!!

  • Wearing the same shoe Every day: Oh my Goodness, how will you wear a shoe every day and want to escape VOCs? Come on friend, when your feet absorb the sweat and you wear it without drying them, they smell.

  • Lack of personal hygiene can cause the smelly substance to revolve around you.

  • Change in hormones can also cause the feet to smell. Mostly pregnant women and teenagers are prone to this.

  • Stress can cause it as well. Some have to work for almost a day, running up and down the workplace. Due to lack of ventilation, the sweat will start forming an environment for bacteria, dangerous bacteria that can destroy the environment of your feet. The bacteria then spread around your shoe socks as well.

  • Hyperhidrosis can cause smelly feet too. It causes one to sweat more.

Furthermore, some people have the tendency to sweat more on their feet and some don’t sweat like that. But if you notice that you fall into this category of the smelly substance there are some few steps for you to deal with it;

Prevention

  • Make sure you always keep your feet clean: washing your feet daily goes a very long way as it takes away bacteria and the odoriferous saga.

  • Buy Ventilated Shoes: when buying shoes, though you have choices when purchasing shoes but I will advise you wear ventilated shoes especially when you are going to wear the shoe for over a long period of time.

  • Foot Fresh Socks: They contain chemicals that discourage bacteria that want to break down the sweat. Most produced socks contain ventilation panels that air can penetrate into your feet to avoid odoriferous saga.

  • The use of spray deodorant antiperspirant for your feet really goes a long way.

  • You can insert medicated insoles in inside your shoes. They contain chemicals to keep it from O.D.S (odoriferous saga).

  • This works too; whenever you are done bathing your feet, dry your feet with a dry towel and then apply surgical spirit.

  • Break your shoes! Oh sorry, I meant, give your shoe a break: slip of hand not slip of the tongue; lol, not funny! I will advise you not to wear the same shoe every day.

  • Before putting on your shoes, make sure that your feet are dry.

  • Sprinkling some spoons of baking soda over the night will do great wonders in your shoes…maybe your shoes will be happy to sleep just like you are during the night.

  • You can spray Vinegar, mixed with equal amount of water/ when you spray it into your shoes, it will kill the bacteria and after that leave to dry for at least 30 minutes. But be mindful that it might affect the color of some shoe. Not all!

So the performance of your shoe lies in your hands as you have the control to change some certain weird stuff that happens to almost everyone. So what do you think?

Stay safe until next time on weird science, stay away from volatile organic compounds and odoriferous saga. It might block your nose. Lolz

Thanks for Reading! Happy week end.. Or Weak end..you got a choice
