In the heart of the "Nebulosa Roseta", there is a bright open cluster of stars that illuminate the nebula. The stars of NGC 2244 were formed from the gas that surrounded them only a few million years ago. The image, taken in January, by multiple exposures and very specific colors for sulfur (dark red), hydrogen (green) and oxygen (blue), captures the central region in great detail.

From the stars of the cluster flows a hot wind of particles that contribute to the accumulation of filaments of gases and particles, slowly, the center of the cluster is evacuated. The center of the Rosette nebula is about 50 light-years in diameter, is about 4,500 light years away and can be observed with binoculars to the Unicorn constellation.

It is really beautiful!
