Many Christians are struggling with sins because they don't realize they are dead to sin already. The bible in Romans 6:2 says, God forbid> How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer there in?. Once we realize this fact, a light bulb effect is triggered immediately to our consciousness and the nature of the old man is gone completely.
So when the devil comes next time to tempt you with that besetting sin, you usually fall for, be it addictions, drugs,sexual sins, etc remind him that you are dead and that he attended you funeral service the day you were baptized (Romans 6:3). Therefore you cannot spend your old nature but instead arise to the newness of life in Christ Jesus. (Romans 6:4)
