Great Vlog @jongolson I ama new member to Steemit & DTube. Been about a week now and I havent posted my first official post yet but I have been very active in comments as I get a feel for the community. Bringing value can mean many things are you giving advice that will benefit someone, are you posting content that is relevant and/or is your content entertaining? All these things bring value. For me videos like this are providing huge value to me as I learn about these platforms and what the best practices are before just posting wildly. I am excited to start sharing my videos with you all. Time for some quality Entertainment on the Steemit and Dtube!
Question to everyone here, How long did it take you to get the feel for Steemit & DTube and any advice for a Newbie on Steemit & DTube besides #value
It took me a few few weeks to really start to "get it" although, I must confess, I am still "getting it".... Lol!
I think one of the important lessons that I learnt early on, and it seems like you have also grasped this already, is that comments are one of the best ways to build your network and community on this platform. Because the reality is, to start blogging as a newbie on this platform, very few, if any, readers are going to find you - this is true for any blogs on any other platforms to be fair. So I would carry on as you're doing right now and make genuine and useful comments by adding to other people's posts. I would encourage you to add maybe a post of your own each day if poss as readers will inevitably come and check out your profile to see if it would be good to follow you (and if there's nothing there, then you are unlikely to get a follow..! ).
^^^ And what Steve said :)
Awesome! Welcome to the blockchain and thanks very much for the comments.
The big thing for me...is daily action and interaction. If that would be the biggest advice I would give...It would be that.
Lots of people are excited when they join but see how exited they are in a month or two without any support from the whales. It get be a let down.
Trick is to use this as social media and interact daily. Don't worry about the rewards. They will come but after the relationships have been built!
Thanks to you and Steve that is useful advice from the both of you. Yes I noticed off the bat with my just commenting and exploring how powerful it is. Just released my first post (Introduction)
The great thing is I was producing content around performing arts and distributing regularly on multiple platforms as my goal is to create awareness my passion, something that changed my life for the good. The fact I could earn some decent money off this in the long run is just a bonus. I think in order to produce the quality content it is also about loving what you do and what you are posting about.
Absolutely!
If you don't love what you do, you will quit real quick.
The passion has to be there first and the action will supply itself :)
