This is awesome! The painted bodies, the light and colours...

Thanks :) it was evening. The paints are though little sad. The lady has make up / body paint but the men has enamel paint on their bodies!

Enamel? That must be first of harmful and secondly hard to wash off..
Looks amazing though!

yes :( from traditional paints to it became enamel for men ... for the lady I believe it was proper body paint and from this year onwards I believe things are getting better. In general India is not known friendly towards women and this is a welcome change in the right direction. So beyond the paint, this has very important cultural significance as well.

But traditionally it had to be something else years and years ago... when there was no enamel. Had to be some natural colours.
It is great to see changes. Even small ones as long as it all goes in good direction.

Yes - I think traditionally it might have been similar to other art forms of India. There are art forms like Kathakali and theyyam .... surprisingly the ingridients for making colour was items like turmeric which is actually medicinal. As you said these small changes can go a big way
