Kanatlarının üzeri gök mavisine yakın bir renkte olduğundan ve yüzlerce çeşit kelebeğe ev sahipliği yapan Saimbeyli(Adana) ilçesine özgü bir kelebek olduğundan dolayı bu kelebeğin adı Saimbeyli Mavisi olarak geçmektedir. 1992 yılında keşfedilen bu kelebek Saimbeyli bölgesinde 1300-1700 metre yükseklikte orman yollarındaki sulu ve çamurlu alanlarda görülmektedir. Because its wings are in a color close to the sky blue and unique to Saimbeyli(one of the towns of Adana/Turkey) which hosts hundreds of species of butterflies, this butterfly is called Saimbeyli Blue. Discovered in 1992, this butterfly can be seen in watery and muddy areas on forest roads at 1300-1700 meters above sea level in Saimbeyli region. Photographs are taken bey me.
