5 months for a normal blog is nothing, you may not even get picked up by Google indexing robots :)
This is true, I have a personal blog where I talk about different stuff. It's been there for over a year and doesn't still show up on Google search results. I do post there about twice a month, but have't really gone into SEO and ad rev.
