RE: The Electricity: Don't Hold Your Breath

in #stemng6 years ago (edited)

The myth is if you hold your breath and touch a live wire that you will not feel any electric shock.

I have done this, it is true but some factors must be observed.
To do this, you must make sure your body is not touching any conductor(metal or so),your hand is not wet and finally you must wear some safety boot(any foot wear that is an insulator) to avoid earthing your body

In one electrical/electronic shop, i wanted yo connect a a lamp to a live wire that has no individual switch and no lamp holder. The first time i tried this, i flinched. The second time, I first hooked the wire of the electric lamp to the live wire, which after i used my hand to twist the two wires together and no electric shock.

In my own concept, you must connect a load to the live wire before touching

I'd recommend you stop, I've seen a fatal result of someone touching a supposedly LV wire which turns out to have more juice than they thought possible.

Ooooo
Thanks for your recommendation
