RE: What Are The Basic Tips For Selecting A Storage Unit

in #storageunitsnearme6 years ago (edited)

I see you have several how-to posts, but I would suggest some serious work on your writing style. It is very clunky and hard to follow. I suggest visiting the library to borrow Dreyer's English: An Utterly Correct Guide to Clarity and Style, by Benjamin Dreyer; The Elements of Style, by Strunk and White; and a workbook on technical writing.

I also strongly advise an image credit link for any image that is not your own photography.

Here is how I would edit your post:

Tips for Selecting a Storage Unit

Storage spaces are essential for both residential and commercial needs. They help you clear the house, office or workshop. When you stuff your home with belongings, and even run out of space in your attic, a storage unit becomes your last resort. [note that you never sad why commercial and industrial storage might be required, rendering their mention pointless, so I deleted that part entirely.]

In order to choose the appropriate storage system, you need to consider a few factors.

Size

You need to make a rough estimate, and look for space according to your need. [Do you need the volume of a closet? A bedroom? A garage? A warehouse?]

Climate control

Storage units come in two different variations: Climate control or not. A temperature controlled unit offers a better environment, but can be more difficult to access.

[What does this even mean? "As the temperature controlled storage units are in the apartment and you need to take a trolley and use the elevator to take the belongings up to space." It seems superfluous. Are you discussing storage units in an apartment facility only now?]

Style

This depends on the quantity and types of goods, the rental period, and your budget. Cost varies significantly, and is far higher in urban areas.

Security

[What security measures do you need? Do they provide locks, or do you supply your own? Check whether the facility has controlled access, cameras, and perhaps even 24/7 guards on site.]

Convenience

Location is important. Do you need to travel far to store your belongings?

Visit the site and inspect it thoroughly. Read the terms and conditions. Check customer reviews. [A little care at the beginning can save you money and headaches in the long term.]

See how much punchier that was? All I did for the most part was trim your word count and fix your grammar. Major edits and my commentary are in brackets. It's a lot more readable, and far more likely to get eyes on your page.

If you're planning to include links, try to make them relevant to as many people as possible. A Pasadena storage unit isn't useful to many people. Is there a nationwide, or even international source? That is what you would want in your link.
