We've noticed that once the squirrels in our park have their fill they start burying the nuts. We seem to think this might be a sort of communal behavior on their part for the greater good. It seems like they randomly bury the nuts maybe never even expecting to be the one to uncover them. They have an extremely good sense of smell and I think they can find them pretty easily. Fascinating little creatures they are!
