Sure you could! All it takes is practice. I always have to fight the urge to make them too overcomplicated/wordy. The more I simplify the dialogue and plot the more readers seem to connect with it. I think the overcomplication was getting in the way of readers' painting the mental pictures in their heads while reading. Glad you're enjoying it!
