I remember in years past logging into CoinMarketCap.com and there being page upon page of exchanges listed for certain coins. Some of them were super sketchy. There certainly has been a lot of change in the last five years.
Quick onboarding and easy fiat/crypto bridges will be crucial if Hive (and projects like it) ever want to truly be mainstream. Low token value does make building and innovating harder—I guess it’s a classic chicken-and-egg problem. Still, the fact that we’re here watching it all unfold and people are still building is something special and gives us reason to be optimistic.
I’ve stopped thinking of Hive primarily as a currency. I see it more as an attention token — like a digital reward for giving and receiving attention online. This kind of framing, I believe, is how it can differentiate itself, grow, and actually thrive...as an attention-token that works across a wide range of Web3 platforms.
