Ahsan Manzil is the residential palace and zamindari sadar kachari of the nawabs of Dhaka in the Kumartuli area on the banks of Buriganga river. Currently the museum. It is said that this place was in Rangamahal of Zamindar Sheikh Enayetullah of Jamalpur Pargana here during the Mughal period. After purchasing Rangamahalati from his son Matiullah, the French bought a business cloth there.
In 1830, Khwaja Alimullah bought Kuthibari from the French and made it necessary to make it its home. On behalf of this house, Khwaja Abdul Gani Martin and Company, a European construction and engineer organization, developed a master plan whose main building was Ahsan Manzil. The construction work of Ahsan Manzil began in 1859 and was completed in 1872. Abdul Gani named after his son Khwaja Ahsanullah, named the building Ahsan Manzil. In that era, the newly constructed palace building was known as Rangamahal and the previous building was known as Andromala.

Ahsan Manzil is a significant architectural feature of the country. The height of the two-storey palace building on a height of 1 meter is 125.4 square meters in length and 28.5 square meters in width. 5 meters height from floor to ceiling height and 5.8 meters in the double bed. At the height of the palace, both sides of the palace, both the north and the south, have fallen on the verandah from the porch verandah to a river with a large open stairs leading to the river. There was a fountain in the garden in front of the stairs which is not present. Both the north and south sides of the palace are spacious verandahs with semi-arch arch. The floor of the porch and chambers is decorated with marble stones.

Under the historic and architectural importance of Ahsan Manzil, the government of Bangladesh has renovated the building to become a museum. The repair work of the Department of Public Works and Architecture, completed in 1992, was completed by September 20, the palace was brought under the control of the National Museum and a museum was established here.
