How life works

You are given your first robot for Christmas and are so excited to finally have a friend. You name him and tell him all the wonderful things you'll do together. The robot is excited to learn how life works.

Time passes.

You start living for the day at school. It's starting to affect your grades, turning in homework late or completely and not paying attention to the teacher. You plan to not do well on tests, because you don't care about school.

You plan to get good at video games, take breaks from school, and spend more and more time playing them.

You plan to be at home with your computer all the time, ignoring your toys and watching YouTube videos. You don't go out with friends at night; they don't understand you anyway. You don't have any extracurricular activities; they don't seem interesting anymore.

You just want to sleep. You want to stay up later and later playing video games.

All the hopes and dreams of having a great life, learning all you can, going places, and things like that, slowly start to disappear. You don't care about doing anything but sleeping, staying up late, and listening to music. Your parents and teachers catch on, but they're so used to it that it doesn't usually warrant a real reaction.

Your appearance starts to go too. You start putting on weight. You start eating junk. You have very few groceries in the cupboard, because you still eat a lot of chips and junk food. Some say that your weight gain is because of your lack of interest in playing outside and toys, and there is an unhealthy amount of junk food in the house.

You see people at school starting to be thin. Kids who are thin are staying out all night, eating out, and doing fun things. At school you see them every other day, hanging out, going to lunch with friends, and talking to teachers.

You don't want to meet new friends with your absentminded habits. You don't care that your parents are worried, so they get a divorce. You don't care about being an adult; you just want to go back to being the kid who used to be taken care of by the adults.

You have been wanting to go to a hypnotist for a while, because you want to be able to stop hearing the negative things people tell you time and time again. The hypnotist asks you some questions.

You decide to do everything for yourself instead of having other people do things for you. You make your own plans and try to only be with people who want you to be with them. You don't want to have people help you with your hygiene or comfort. You want to take care of the house, but don't want anyone to help you.

You go back to school. You do much better and decide to keep your grades up. You start to take care of yourself; you start eating healthy. You go back to the teaching staff and teachers, asking them to help you. You want to join activities and be a good leader. You want to be confident; you want to make other people happy.

You decide that it would make you happy, too. You ask the hypnotist to give you some more time to do well and think about things.

Then, you make plans to become thin, and make sure you can stick with them. You don't want to make any decisions ever again.

Your mother gets remarried to a very good man. You know you will have a good life. You'll be able to become a good adult. Your mother won't tell you what to do and won't try to stop you from doing what you want. You don't know why you were beaten as a kid or why you started to spend time on YouTube videos instead of friends, because she never told you. You didn't care when you were a kid, though; you just wanted to play video games and sleep. On your birthday, she bought you a cool jacket that makes you feel good about yourself over other people. She loves you for who you are.
