The knock on the door startled her. Immediately she peeped through the window. She’s now afraid that Gipson might come after her life having failed his mission on blackmailing her.
She saw a Gentle looking young man. “Oh, Phillips.” She muttered. Then made her way hurriedly to the door, opens the door and anxiously grabbed him into the house and then immediately he slammed the door as if someone was trying to kill her.
Phillips became worried and confused by her action. “What’s going on Janet? Why are you panicking?” he enquired. Janet sat held his wrist, and they both sat down on the sofa.
“You know last time I told you everything was fine with me, I was wrong for not telling you the truth. If I don’t tell you the truth there could be no solution to my problem.” She narrated all that had happened in their relationship and what the Detective had said. “I never knew I was dating a killer and an ex-convict for that matter!” She cried out. But Phillips assured her that he will personally capture Gipson and make sure he’s being brought to justice. Phillip enquired for his Gipson’s full name and then he picked up his phone and made a call.
“Who’re did you just called?” She curiously asked. “Don’t worry am taking care of this situation. I have some few IT friends in Chicago, and they are actually professional spies. I will call one of my friends who are a cop, Detective Roberts to look into the matter immediately. Don’t worry my love.” He held her tightly close to his chest and kissed her passionately.
The sound of the siren made them stood up immediately. They walked up to the doorway and opened the door. “Phillip this is Detective Morris, who is investigating on the incident.” She said pointing at Morris. Phillip held out his hand for a handshake. “You welcome. I’m Phillip, an Information Technologist.” Detective looked at Janet suspiciously and then looked at Phillip. “Phillip is my boyfriend, just leaves next to me.” Detective walked straight in as they made way for him. Janet went to the kitchen and brought out a cup of coffee and gave to him. “Thank you.” Detective Morris said, and they both sat on the sofa.
“As I initially told you, Gipson was jailed for committing manslaughter. Their same property led to his father’s death, therefore, the investigation we have made so far made us understand that he was on revenge. He blackmailed you so that when you are jailed he can easily collect the documents for the properties; he never knew that we could detect his fingerprints.
But I believe he now knew that the cops are after him that’s why he’s on the run. That doesn’t stop him from coming after you to make sure he took those documents, and that’s why I said you have to be careful of your movements. He’s smart then you can imagine.”
Phillip shrugged and then he said. “Don’t worry Janet we are going to track him down within few days trust me. My men are professionals. And Detective Morris I will like to take your permission to send your mobile number to my friends.” “Alright go ahead.”
Janet worriedly inquired why he could want the document for since his father sold it to her father. “Criminals don’t care if that was yours or not. When they want something they just go for it.” Morris said and stood up to leave. “I have to get going now, here’s my card in case of any information just give me a call. The second number I wrote at the back is my colleague who works here in Chicago; he’s also investigating on this matter.” He said while leaving for the doorway. He entered his car and drove off.
