Hi Eric,
My wife and I were just discussing the rise of machines and the resulting decline in human interaction in our society. It doesn't augur well for the future and without being a Luddite, which I am certainly not, I am honestly concerned about where this tracks going forward. It didn;t help that the two films we viewed this weekend on TV exploited the negative consequences of AI. Your novel might help raise consciousness about alternative ways of coping with these threats. I think that's one of the benefits of speculative fiction.

I am still, fairly, optimistic about where this is all headed but I still have my concerns—especially after the most recent Diary Of A CEO podcast with Eric Weinstein. I think we're being peppered with propaganda by both sides of the issue at the moment. It's been shown that much of the anti-AI/anti-data center stories are being propagated by foreign adversaries that want to slow us down and beat us to the punch. On the flip-side, a lot of the utopian promises that surround AI are being made by those with a stake in it succeeding. With the story I won't be advocating total abandonment of the emerging tech but rather conscious, measured usage. I love speculative fiction. It's interesting to watch the trends of it. There was an absolute flood of dystopian fiction in the years leading up to the pandemic. It makes you wonder if it was predictive or if it helped to steer society in that direction subconsciously?
