According to an AFP count, 18 people died in Poland, six in the Czech Republic, five in Lithuania, four in France and Slovakia, two in Italy, Romania, Serbia and Slovenia, and one in the Netherlands, Britain and Spain. In Estonia, the cold left seven dead throughout the month of February.

There was a flash freezing in Kazakhstan this past January as well. Animals were literally frozen in their tracks when temperatures suddenly dropped to -68 degrees...
