How the Eagle learnt to fly(Reality)

in #story7 years ago

May I tell you a story?

I hope you pay rapt attention.

I'm sure many of you must have heard the story of the eagle that was raised among chickens and never learned to fly.

Hey, your environment may limit you, smother you, and keep you below yourself, but you should fight back and never follow the wrong path which they lay for you.

You have to create your legacy, like I have always said.

Back to the story,
A great farmer found the egg of an eagle somewhere in the forest, only God knows how it got there, he placed the egg under his own chicken which was sitting on its own egg.

Fortunately the eaglet successfully hatched out of the egg through the incubation it passed through.

The other eggs of the mother hen hatched into baby chicks.

Though the eaglet appeared bigger than the baby chicks, and its plumage was different, but the mother hen raised it nonetheless.

The eaglet mixed up with the chicks, ate chicken feed, cuddled with them and snuggled under the wings of the mother hen for protection.

It did everything a chicken would do and it became more of a chicken than an eagle but physically it remained as eagle.

It soon grew and became markedly different from the chicken population. As an eagle, it was suppose to soar high and fly in the skies, but it totally had a chicken mentality.

It ate, played, and slept with the chickens, despite it was an eagle.

Biologically an eagle, but socially and mentally a chicken, a fool if I'll say, because it didn't live up to its potential.

This farmer felt sorry for the big bed, because he couldn't bear it seeing the eagle pecking among chickens, so he decided to liberate it.

Day after day, the farmer will pick up the eagle and throw it in the air, shouting, "Fly, eagle, fly!"

But the poor bird will fly to the earth like a pebble, hardly flapping its wings or making any attempt at flying away. This continued for weeks with no success.

Then the great farmer got an idea.

He took the eagle and went to a mountain side where they were some eagles flying majestically in the skies, steady like a parachute, diving like jets, soaring higher than other birds.

So the held this pitiful, earthbound eagle in his strong large palm and lifted its head for it to see other eagles flying miraculously.

Hmmmmm, after watching other eagles fly and soar for a while, something happened in the bird's psyche.

You wanna know?

This eagle took another look at itself and the environment, and for the first time, it saw itself I a new light.

It recognised itself as an eagle, it also took notice that its kin were not bound here in the earth, but were flying in the sky.

It dawned on the eagle that it did not belong among the chickens.

Then, by way of an experiment, it flapped its own wings.

It worked!
They could fly, so it tried harder and flew away from the farmers hand and landed on a tree, a short distance from the farmer.

It flapped its wing some more and was gradually airborne. It did this repeatedly and was now conquering the sky.

Soon it joined the eagles in the sky and flew away.

It had been an eagle all its life, but its negative environment, living with chickens, had lowered its expectations of itself.

This eagle, logically managed to reprogram itself back to its nature when it saw other eagles fly in the sky.

This is a great example for everyone in life

You may live in an environment where ruffians intimidate the ambitious, but you don't have to make that an excuse for not attempting to be somebody.

You need to give it a try, try harder, try even more harder, you'll be surprised to just find yourself in the middle of your desired aspiration.

Never count how much you have gone, instead, be ready to go a thousand, and you may end up going just a hundred before getting there.

I hope you understand my little proverb there.

Very well said...An inspiration worth keeping :)

and if I may add...

What's gone is gone--that's the past.

Don't dwell on it!

   Right now is the present...

Be productive and go the distance!

                Fly like an eagle!
Soar high and reach for the sky of your future!

And by the way thank you for dropping this post, we love you! ;)

I also do love you too ..... Let the love flow....
