It's incredible how you managed to create so much tension in this chapter, just with Evan's thoughts, fears, and reflections. I liked the last part, when we are no longer just a profession and become part of a whole for the good of the universe. I think this is fundamental to any battle (physical or spiritual). The idea of “eliminating” ourselves as a species and uploading certain “consciousnesses” into an AI is a plan that does not seem far-fetched or improbable to me. Hugs, my friend.

Thank you Nancy! I was trying to imagine what it would actually feel like to be in such a position and the only thought that kept popping up was—sheer paranoia. I listen to a lot of technology podcasts and the general consensus across a lot of them is there will soon be a branch of humanity that merges with AI. It's not a far stretch of the imagination that, once AI becomes sentient, humans will be able to have their individual consciousness uploaded. Hugs to you Nancy! I hope you're having a wonderful week!
