I like how you use the metaphor of the tree to talk about man. Our branches will always seek to expand and reach the unimaginable. These days I was reading about a case of a man who had an accident and had “selectively” lost his memory. He erased from his brain that he got married, that he had children, and that one of them had died. He remembered his youth, his childhood, and even his college years. I feel that we survive thanks to the happiest moments, that our grounding cable is those moments of happiness and the desire to relive them, to have as much or more happiness than we experienced. I hope you had a nice Valentine's Day, Eric. Hugs.

Thank you Nancy! You're so right, happy memories are like an emotional bank account we can draw on when times get tough. I hope you had a wonderful Valentine's Day too! Hugs to you my friend.
