How time flies! It’s incredible that winter is just around the corner over there. Here, the heat is intense, and apparently, October will be the hottest month of the year. As for language, I find it wonderful how certain words survive through usage. One of the characteristics of language is its conventional nature—people know and use each word. If a word falls out of use, it gets lost. I think you’ve just rescued that word by remembering your father. Hugs, my friend.
It goes so quickly! It's gradually getting cooler and cooler here but we could still warm up one last time. It made me so happy to discover that little connection with our ancestors! It's incredible, really, that the word survived until my Dad's generation. I hope you're having a good week Nancy!
