Firstly the task given by the king is kind of a difficult one. Which is why he said he would be giving anyone who found the ship walking on land a seven hundred farms.
But for a poor woman to send her son,it means they are desperately in need of money.
She then sent the eldest son for the task.

But I wouldn’t blame the eldest son for not giving the old man the little bread he had because that was the only means of survival for him.
But I wish he gave the old man the little bread which might have helped him get what he wanted.

He tried his best though.

I hope the rest of her sons finds the ship walking on land.

It’s such an interesting tale.
