I had a dream
A friend told me they had grown up with the idea drilled into them that there was only a finite number of films you could watch in a lifetime.
And if they found a partner who was into surfing, birdwatching or puzzles then that would be okay; they could share in any of those hobbies and still make time to get through the long lists of old movies they needed to see.
But if they found a partner who was into cycling, then that was okay too; they could even do that together. They would just have to move to another star system where gravity was so strong that time slowed down. Enough that they could ride across the landscape and still have time to get through a lifetime's quota of films, or perhaps just strong enough to knock down their bicycles.
