RE: Going Out With A Song - A True Story🎸

in #story8 years ago

My college "Computer Organization" professor in the late eighties worked for Unisys in Blue Bell, PA for his full time job. I can't remember his name any more, but I remember that he was crazy-smart - or at least he seemed that way to a 20 year old kid.

I've never been fired for playing guitar, but I've been laid off three times due to office closings. Every time, it was scary when it happened, but it worked out in my favor in the end.

Thanks, @remlaps, for stopping by and sharing your info here with us. Burroughs and Sperry merged to become Unisys while I was still involved with them.

I remember the change from the round "B" logo which we affectionately called "the meatball" to a modern, angular logo for either the final days of Burroughs or the new Unisys.

One day I'll write the story of all the layoffs I've been though... :O Considerably more than three!

Scary? Yep, and sometimes regardless of which side of the layoff you are on!
