Things did not go as fast as you might think on arrival. This was a whole new generation with new ideals and new goals of what they would do on reaching the planet.

The success of the journey was in training others to do tasks along the way. Learning the different sciences mechanics computer coding flora and fauna. These life lessons learned, Would not be put to the test. Though an unexpected wait for those onboard.

Surveying the planet would need to be done first, Analysing the air water flora and fauna. Preparation and construction of vehicles specific to terrains were under way.

Months had past since they arrived in orbit. Time to visit the planet was near. Though training had been given on the different systems. External cameras and scanning equipment was never touched on. These systems were never used during transit. It was by chance the system was activated after 3 months of trying to gain information about the planet by less rewarding methods.

Since then much progress was made, Better mapping of terrain and life forms weather patterns were also watched.

An area on the south of one continent was decided on the best place to start. It had a mountain range a main dock could be established on, From there smaller transport vessels could scout the planet. Vessels to the main ship would not need as much trust to leave the atmosphere from high elevation.

Getting the basics of the docking station built took little less than a month. The station had not done any scouting missions as yet. The captain was adamant. Everything should be set checked and rechecked before moving to planetary exploration.

All docking systems working. Medical and food supplies. Transporters and fuel cells. Weapons, to be used only in need of defence. Jet packs and exoskeletons. Atmospheric protection clothing and helmets.

Having a new home. Having a place they can call their own. A place were they can build and grow things. The open spaces, the fresh air, water an abundance of water. New plant and foods. A chance to taste real meat.

Conversation on the ship were filled with excitement. Even the smallest of things seemed to be big things. The smelling of new flowers. Watching birds fly. Walking on grass. Swimming in the ocean. Just being able to see something new.

The first of the planet crew had been selected. These would not be performing any of the things people got excited about. Although they could now survey the planet from orbit. Specific places to settle down cannot be decided upon from orbit. A lower reconnaissance is needed. the first crew would live on the docking station for 3 weeks and then rotate with the next crew. A transport once a week lined up with the station to give the shortest transport times. If needed this could transport any items needing research. Or crew at the change of shift.
