Streem

in #stream20 hours ago

I'm thinking about getting back to some streaming again, although most likely not just on one platform as I'm pretty sure I'm going to have close to no viewers. So will probably look into some tools for multi-streaming on twitch, youtube and whatever else you may have that's worth it.

Today was the first day I've played some games (cs2) + bought some games from the steam summer sale. It feels like I've been so busy trying to build things lately while doing my other hive stuff that I've not had any time to play, while at the same time feeling like any time playing is a time wasted.

I have tried to watch more things however, so I can log them on scrobble.life mainly, lol. It's hard to try focus on watching something while running multiple claude instances and trying to remember what you were working on. Often times that bites you in the ass cause you may forget some of teh steps and it causes you to give it unnecessary prompts you may have to revert on, etc.

I'm not counting playtesting holozing:wilds as gaming cause that's not really been "fun" so to speak, lol, more like checking it profusely that things are working as they should and that they're scaling as they should. We plan on opening it up to a wider audience soon so we can at the same time maybe stress test the servers to make sure it can handle mutliple people all playing at the same time before considering a reset and beta launch with more things to do and less resets.

Either way, it was quite fun to play something again today. Did two premier matches of CS2, won one and had a nice ace in the first match. Took a break from writing to go back and record it for the fun of it:

Either way, it kind of feels like I need gaming, or like my brain needs it every now and then. Like there's an emptiness kind of that needs to be filled somewhat. I was hoping by now I'd be able to fill it with my own games but as we all came to know the markets decided Hive wasn't going to hang along with the others when they were doing better a couple years ago.

I am hopeful however that with AI tools that exist now we can get there and with the way hive and other tokens work that we can be a place that offers players more value for their time, attention and effort and that that's what people will strive for eventually rather than just being all "I don't care i had fun playing this and I don't regret it". Like, sure, that's all fine, but don't you realize you can have the same amount of fun soon while also not being treated as a cashcow? Not being studied and seen as just another wallet and how to get you to empty your paychecks onto our microtransactions, dlc's, ingame items you can't trade, sell or even own, really?

Yeah, I don't know, this world is quite upside down lately and it feels like it's just getting worse. People spend so much time, effort and attention where others are benefiting from it and it's only possible thanks to the people, yet they don't know any better nor care to figure out if any better options exist.

The reputation of crypto has been put through the gutter and it's been filled with fake web3's for years now while the real gems see no attention and people can't seem to solve the puzzle even when it's presented right in front of them.

Maybe AI will see it and be able to put it in better words than we can, who knows. Anyway, just a little shitpost today as my sleep rhythm is messed up and I'm supposed to go on a show tonight - not sure how that's gonna go.

Thanks for reading anyway. (and maybe watching (and maybe watching more in the future once I start streaming again))

I think you’ve captured it. Even if I can’t get the same attention a memecoin gets, I can damn sure try, and deliver some value at the same time. Of course, it’s subjective, but even when I tried my strategies within those communities, my efforts were seen as frivolous or extraneous. When to me, all that nonsense about “bagwork” i.e. shilling, spamming replies, and “coded” posts doesn’t drive the point home any better. But I love being a solo builder of my little project, because I don’t argue with anyone, it’s all on my timeline, and no one can disappoint me with their lack of participation or betrayal/sabotage otherwise. If it pans, great, if not, I spent my time doing stuff I liked, kinda like gaming and streaming it for others to see, where you can earn more than a few cosmetics. We’ll see! Thanks for posting no matter how infrequent, cuz I can tell you’re often engaged. Just a compromise of the times. Post or see posts, game or record the gaming, the list goes on.

Hey nice to hear from you, been a while. Are u using AI to help with your projects? Ever since I dove into it I haven't had a day pass me without having it do some things. Like quite literally probably doubled the amount of projects/things I have on here with 10x more sidetracked locally waiting to be finished later. Can definitely recommend and wish I had gotten into it earlier.

Hive is down to about two thousand weekly authors.

While based on platform usage data, it is estimated that Facebook has between 1.1 billion and 1.2 billion weekly active posters.

The gap is insane, if Hive could get just 1% of Facebook market share we would have 10 million weekly authors... And this is not counting reddit or X...

that's the thing with social media however, i remember when I got there myself, a friend invited me and I found other friends that were on there. We have very little of that on hive.

We've seen some of it during our onboarding program which is currently stale, especially focused on certain regions and it caused for high retention rate with focused curation on top. Gotta get that back soon and find some extra funding to incentivize onboarders.

The good news is that the difficulty of creating accounts usually "forces" people to store the keys safely, so hopefully they can come back easily when things turn around, which they eventually will imo.

lol @ knife kill... i played some CS (and valorant which is similar) but i can't like the fact that you get slowed down when hit or 1 bullet one shots you

what games you bought?

I picked up no man's sky, tested it for 15mins but got to sleepy, not related to the game i think lol

Oh too much "open" and crafting for my likings lol... I highly recommend horizon or expedition 33 those won't make you fall asleep

That knife at the end of the round was really cool!! Humiliation at its finest lol

I've been playing the latest season of Path of Exile 2. Probably should be spending my time doing other stuff though...

Haha I had to stop with that as hardcore was just too hard, think I got to 66 on maps with my warrior and died again and was like, I'm out.

I don't even bother with hardcore, it would be total rage bait for me!

I have no social life but at the same time it has been a few months(?!) since the last time I played something. Shame. I really love both Witcher 3 and Baldur's Gate 3 but I just keep delaying playing it...

hehe I remember your witcher 3 posts.

Did you ever watch the TV show?

I loved Witcher books. And after that all Witcher games. Both books and games are among my favorites. I watched only 2 seasons of tv show...I think. I only remember that it was neither the best, nor the worst things I have seen.

haha yeah i stopped after they switched the actor :D don't think it got better

I don't understand how creators of the show managed to fuck that up. It is not like game of thrones. at least GOT show creators had run out of source material. But that was not the case with the Witcher at all...

I think that's the problem, they didn't wanna stick to the source and thought they could come up with something better than the author who's been spending decades writing them.

As an adult, there are so many things I'd like to play, but sometimes time and responsibilities get in the way. Best regards.

I think many people who create or develop projects sometimes feel that video games are a waste of time, when in reality they can be an important way to relax the mind and rekindle one’s creativity. I also share your view that today’s video game industry often prioritizes revenue over providing real value to players. It’s possible that artificial intelligence and projects built on Hive could pave a new path that combines entertainment, true ownership, and fairer rewards. Congratulations on your ace in CS2, and I hope your return to streaming will be a positive and rewarding experience.

Looking forward to seeing the streams return. Even if the audience starts small, consistency usually wins in the long run

I think getting back into CS2 must have been a nice change after all the effort put into its development.

gaming is a great way to keep your mind of things , or unload some stress :)

btw you might want to check your witness votes , i saw your name voting for a witness that is no longer active ;)
