Thank you for that uplifting message! But seriously, I'm not sure why this "life or death" matter doesn't seem to resonate with some people as a "thing."
Lately I've been seeing people who have been beating the "hoax" message and the "it's just the flu" message saying things like "Well, I actually know some elderly people who have been diagnosed, and that is worrisome. It's probably a good idea to go ahead and wash your hands and do that social distancing thing people have been yammering about. Maybe even wear a mask. This appears to be real."
You just want to say, "Do you think there was any other time that might have been appropriate to exercise caution?"
