Commuting
Commuting in a crowded train is part of daily life in New York. Everyone seems to distance themselves as much as they can from other people - physically and mentally. Its a natural human reaction when you are constantly overstimulated and forced to be so close to others. Its a form of "tunnel vision" that I have found myself in many times before and photography has helped me snap out of it many times in my life.
Once in a while, the masses move aside and reveal a beautiful scene, almost like a shot from a film. Breaking away from the tunnel vision is important! Otherwise you will miss some wonderful moments, and New York is never short of those...
This was taken on my ride down to work on the A train - somewhere between 125th and 59th street stations.
