I've been quite busy implementing a lot of big updates to scrobble.life and decentmemes.com lately, but had to make a quick post going over the AI subs I wanted to offer people from the DHF.
As expected, some have reached out trying to get the max subs ($200+) when maybe they may not need them. Some others seem to think they can get a sub to continue work on projects that have had no movement for over 5 years, while others are suddenly interested in continuing work even though they haven't even tried to do any work in recent months.
Some of the critique towards the proposal was rightfully said, that if certain devs can't afford to spend $20 on a sub then maybe they're not that serious about things. And I tend to agree with it, but I think it's different if they've shown that they're spending the money but the DHF could still help them out with it since they've proven to be working on unique things on Hive before the proposal existed/went live. Same can't be said about a few others and I plan on remaining strict about my stance rather than giving out subs willy nilly.
Others have attempted to keep things vague, closed sourced and made things difficult to properly be vetted which I've decided not to tolerate and simply exclude from the program. I gave them an out if they didn't feel comfortable sharing code with myself due to conflict of interest or whatnot, but they seemed to not wanna choose the few names I suggested as a counterparty and instead list their own and generally being difficult with a weird tone.
Point is, I'd rather focus these funds on fewer devs and have the funds last longer by sitting in savings (even if that won't result to much, it could offer a few additional $20 subs over time, than deplete it quickly on many people while making the vetting process and further checkups of previous sent funds hard to track.
Like, I'm even trying to maintain a 5x sub myself and not upgrade to a 20x one even though a few have asked me to security check their repo's, so that should maybe give you an idea that I'm trying to do this "by the book". Let's see how that'll go soon however as my sub is gonna run out in a couple days if the tokens will last to also check upon others stuff.
Anyway, for those unaware, I made the account @aisubs to handle payments and savings. Should've maybe made it from the start to avoid confusing things with my own account, but since no HBD is being created from elsewhere right now it should remain fairly simple to keep track of things. I've also created a calendar of accepted people's sub end date so I can send them the HBD + VAT + trading fees a few days before to give them time to exchange, etc.
Now this is obviously not a perfect system, one can't verify which sub tier someone is using or if they're using all tokens towards Hive related things, etc, but point is I'll be trying to keep things under wraps as much as I can, even if some people are making that harder while some just think "free money" as they look at the DHF apparently. Hopefully more good will come out of this than nothingburgers.
I think you are on the right track with it by keeping it strict, my original comment was colored by my bias that you would probably end up giving out these subscriptions left and right to people who are not really serious. I haven't asked for one as I have multiple subscriptions myself and can't even use up all the tokens every month :) My problem that I have trouble coming up with ideas of what to build... I like building dashboards because they give me a view into what is going on with Hive and Splinterlands. Yeah, I got plenty of ideas but it's mostly bigger stuff. I'd suggest something for Holozing but it's probably way too early. We're close to releasing our HAF NFT marketplace here soon at least.

Exigir un compromiso real y rechazar el código cerrado garantiza que los fondos de la DHF lleguen a quienes verdaderamente construyen para Hive. La creación de la cuenta @aisubs y el control de vencimientos demuestran orden ante un proceso que de por sí es complejo.
