after I first heard about Steemit, I went immediately to reddit to get more statistics approximately it, which failed to exercise session so well. So at the least anecdotally it might have served as a wonderful source of statistics for what steemit is ready (if it wasn't cluttered with submit promoting).
on the flip side, I made a reddit account ultimately after a few years as a lurker, so i'm going to look if i can help a few folks out on the reddit
