Message of the day: success

in #success7 years ago (edited)

I want to make it. Easy to say but hard to do. I hear many successful people talk about how many hours of sleep they had to give up, they had no social life, they worked five jobs, they didn't shower, because every moment you spend on your craft is precious and it has to be done NOW. No free time and no distractions just sacrifices they made themeselfs sounds impossible. What is that kind of drive called?- work hard play hard.

The obstacles you must face make it absurd will make you want to shut down. Lets start off with what will make you want to quit..

Self doubt- A big one that ties into so many others. Doubting yourself is the quickest way to an unsuccessful path. You can believe something negative about yourself more than something positive. "From the very beginning you are being told to compare yourself with others. This is the greatest disease; it is like a cancer that goes on destroying your very soul. Each individual is unique, and comparison is not possible--You don’t compare. Do you compare a mango with an apple? You don’t compare. You know they are different - comparison is not possible" (Osho comparison Guida Spirituale). It hits us, when we hear it, it feels so real.

Comparing yourself to others- comparing ourselves to torahs who've succeeded before us is an instant dream killer. We compare ourself and never see ourself where that person is at. Like there is no hope. why should I do it if they're already doing it? We think to ourselves "I will never be as good as them" "they have more followers than I do" "I will never be as successful as them."

Not putting in the work- In todays world we live in an instant gratification society. We don't want to put in countless hours of boring work. We don't want to t ever fail and having to restart. We want it NOW!

Not doing it for you- If you are out to seek revenge or to make someone proud, doing something your unhappy with is not worth it. The success won't feel as good as it naturally would if you did it for yourself.

The blame game- Blaming others for your unsuccessful circumstances. You are the only one that can stop you, you are in total control. Did Oprah stop after countless networks turned her down? NO. There is always another way to reach your goal/ dream.
In the end...

Self doubt- Encourage yourself instead of putting yourself down. Look at the goal, don't look at your weakness. Pick yourself back up also read encouraging book, and watch interviews of people who inspire you. All the tool you need to keep your head in the game.

Comparing yourself- There is only ONE you. No one else can be you and you CAN'T be anyone else. Your journey won't be like others. Look up to those who inspire you, don't look at them and you at the same level, because you are not there you have to start somewhere and from the only way is up.

Not putting in the work- in order to get what you want you have to not care what you want you have to not care what others think you will get embarrassed a couple times, you will fail because with success there is failure.
