Happy Earth Day! As I am a defender and lover of the Cardinalito I did not want to overlook this important day to make a reflection and think together on how we can contribute to the care of our beautiful home: The earth.
Durante muchos años, por tradición, por desconocimiento, por negocio, por avaricia, hemos realizado infinitas actividades que han hecho que seres indefensos como los animales, como la naturaleza y como nosotros mismos nos veamos perjudicados.
For many years, by tradition, by ignorance, by business, by greed, we have carried out infinite activities that have made defenseless beings like animals, nature and ourselves to be harmed.
Cada persona tiene su labor en la vida y pequeños actos son importantes para mejorar nuestro bienestar individual y colectivo, por eso es importante recordar cada día, en especial hoy, que tenemos el poder para cambiar para mejor, en el caso del Cardenalito, es un pájaro en peligro de extinción de mi país Venezuela, es un ave hermosa, que durante décadas ha sido extraído de su hábitat natural para traficar, criar y vender.
Each person has his or her work in life and small acts are important to improve our individual and collective well-being, that is why it is important to remember every day, especially today, that we have the power to change for the better. In the case of the Cardenalito, a bird in danger of extinction in my country Venezuela, it is a beautiful bird that for decades has been extracted from its natural habitat to be trafficked, bred and sold.
Si hacemos conciencia y nos damos cuenta que no es necesario tener un ave enjaulada, ya con eso estamos contribuyendo a la preservación de su especie. Sólo con no comprar mascotas silvestres ponemos un granito de arena que beneficia al planeta. Así como este ejemplo hay infinidad de cosas que podemos hacer para restaurar los daños que otros o nosotros mismos realizamos día a día y así regalarnos el privilegio de vivir en un mundo al que respetamos y amamos.
If we raise awareness and realize that it is not necessary to have a caged bird, we are already contributing to the preservation of its species. Just by not buying wild pets we are doing our bit for the planet. Just like this example there are countless things we can do to restore the damage that others or ourselves do every day and thus give us the privilege of living in a world that we respect and love.
