El día de ayer junto a mi familia decidimos pasar la mañana en el parque/zoológico "La Guaricha" ubicado cerca del centro Maturín Venezuela. Tuve la oportunidad e tomar algunas fotos y así poder compartirlas con ustedes.
Yesterday my family and I decided to spend the morning at the park/zoo "La Guaricha" located near downtown Maturin Venezuela. I had the opportunity to take some pictures and share them with you.
El parque de la Guaricha comenzó su construcción en el año 1976 y fue inaugurada en el año 1979 por iniciativa del consejo municipal del distrito Maturín, convirtiéndose en el parque más popular del estado Monagas.
The Guaricha Park began its construction in 1976 and was inaugurated in 1979 by initiative of the municipal council of the Maturín district, becoming the most popular park in the state of Monagas.
El parque cuenta con una laguna y un lago artificial donde anteriormente se hacían paseos en barcos.
The park has a lagoon and an artificial lake where boat rides used to take place.
Después de 29 años, el león más emblemático del parque zoológico falleció el 20 de junio de 2009 a causa del mal trato y la ineficiencia de los empleados del zoológico. De nombre Casimiro, La Cámara Municipal de Maturín dispuso que el león fuera sepultado en el mismo parque y se creó un monumento recordatorio sobre el querido animal con una escultura que muestra una figura imponente de quien fuera el rey del Parque Zoológico La Guaricha por casi tres décadas.
After 29 years, the most emblematic lion of the zoo died on June 20, 2009 due to the poor treatment and inefficiency of the zoo's employees. Named Casimiro, the Municipal Chamber of Maturín ordered that the lion be buried in the same park and created a memorial to the beloved animal with a sculpture that shows an imposing figure of who was the king of La Guaricha Zoo for almost three decades.
Anteriormente contaba con alrededor de 100 especies de animales, hoy en día cuenta con tan solo 10 especies vivas las cuales podemos apreciar en las fotos.
Formerly it had about 100 species of animals, today it has only 10 living species, which we can see in the photos.
Claramente el parque zoológico de la Guaricha no es lo que era en sus años dorados, más sin embargo sigue siendo un lugar limpio, lleno de áreas verdes y divertido, ideal para pasar tiempo en familia y convivir un rato con la naturaleza, despejar la mente o simplemente descansar, seguiremos disfrutando de los animales y el bonito espacio que se nos ha proporcionado.
Clearly the Guaricha Zoo is not what it was in its golden years, however it is still a clean place, full of green areas and fun, ideal to spend time with the family and spend some time with nature, clear the mind or just relax, we will continue to enjoy the animals and the beautiful space that has been provided.
