“Después de las vacaciones toca volver a enfrentar la realidad”, esa fue la frase que estuve repitiendo los primeros días de enero cuando regresé de Margarita y me encontraba nuevamente en Caracas, cerca de volver a mi rutina y volver al trabajo, era el domingo por la tarde y el lunes debía volver a la oficina, me disponía a descansar, sin embargo recibí una llamada de la mamá de mis dos ahijadas quien me estaba comentando que ella saldría a pasear con las chicas al centro de la ciudad donde habían adornado con diferentes luces decorativas debido a las festividades navideñas, aunque me encontraba un poco cansado, decidí emplear ese último domingo libre en compartir un rato con mis ahijadas y su madre.
"After the holidays, it's time to face reality again", that was the phrase I was repeating the first days of January when I returned from Margarita and I was back in Caracas, close to going back to my routine and return to work, it was Sunday in the afternoon and on Monday I had to go back to the office, I was getting ready to rest, however I received a call from the mother of my two goddaughters who was telling me that she would go for a walk with the girls to the center of the city which was decorated with different decorative lights due to the Christmas festivities, although I was a little tired, I decided to use that last free Sunday to share some time with my goddaughters and their mother.
Desde hace un par de años, comenzó en Caracas la costumbre de adornar la ciudad con diferentes luces cuando se acercan las fiestas navideñas, la verdad hay personas a quienes no les gusta esto, la verdad yo tampoco soy muy fanático de ello, sin embargo, si están colocando algún elemento para adornar la ciudad, no está demás si las personas quieren pasar a tomar alguna foto o simplemente ver los colores, por ello quise aprovechar de compartir un rato con mis ahijadas mientras observaba el peculiar panorama.
A couple of years ago, the custom of decorating the city with different lights when the Christmas holidays approached began in Caracas, the truth is there are people who do not like this, honestly I am not a big fan of it either, however, if they are placing some elements to decorate the city, it is not a big deal if people want to take a photo or simply see the colors, so I wanted to take advantage of spending time with my goddaughters while observing the peculiar panorama.
El centro de la ciudad es decorado de diferentes maneras, desde adornar los árboles y postes de las plazas hasta estructurar diferentes adornos llenos de luces, por eso es particularmente curioso, pues nunca sabes que tipo de arreglo te vas a encontrar.
The center of the city is decorated in different ways, from adorning the trees and poles of the squares to structuring different decorations full of lights, which is why it is particularly curious, because you never know what kind of arrangement you are going to find.
Desde que soy el padrino de las chicas, trato de aprovechar cualquier momento para compartir con ellas, a veces el estrés y mi rutina diaria no me deja mucho tiempo para estar con ellas, por ello siempre aprecio y aprovecho cuando tengo tiempo para poder reunirme con ellas, conversar y divertirnos un poco, como en esta ocasión, algo tan sencillo con caminar por las calles de Caracas observando las luces, también aprovechar de hablar con su mamá quien se ha convertido en una buena amiga mía.
Since I am the godfather of the girls, I try to take advantage of any moment to share with them, sometimes stress and my daily routine do not leave me much time to be with them, that’s why I always appreciate and take advantage when I have time to meet them, talk and have a little fun, like on this occasion, something as simple as walking through the streets of Caracas looking at the lights, also taking advantage of talking to their mother who has become a good friend of mine.
Muchas veces nos pasamos todo el tiempo amargados porque las cosas a nuestro alrededor no están saliendo como queremos o simplemente no nos sentimos bien, al punto que cualquier cosa nos molesta, sin embargo, no está demás darse un respiro y contemplar las cosas pequeñas y probablemente insignificantes como puede ser el hecho de que se adorne una plaza con luces, si no nos gusta somos perfectamente capaces de seguir de largo sin prestar atención, pero si alguien se siente contento tomando una foto en un lugar iluminado no nos debería molestar, son pequeñas maneras que encontramos para distraernos y pasar el rato viendo un escenario diferente, como mi caso en este particular día con mis ahijadas.
Many times we spend all the time bitter because things around us are not going the way we want or we just don’t feel good, until the point that anything bothers us, however, it is not too much to take a break and contemplate the small things and probably insignificant, such as the fact that a square is decorated with lights, if we don't like it we are perfectly capable of going by without paying attention, but if someone feels happy taking a photo in a lighted place it shouldn't bother us, they are small ways we find to distract ourselves and spend time watching a different scenario, as m case on this particular day with my goddaughters.
