The Republic of China (R.O.C) a.k.a. Taiwan is an island country located to the south of the East China Sea, west of the Philippine Sea, and north of the South China Sea. The nation lies precisely on the Tropic of Cancer making its climate humid and subtropical. It borders the Pacific Ocean and shares maritime borders with the People’s Republic of China (P.R.C), the Philippines, and Japan. It is currently the most populous and prosperous state that is not a member of the United Nations.

The country has grown increasingly in the last century with through industrialization which has enabled the nation to attract major corporations and establish an economic framework while subsequently becoming one of the leading Asian economies among other developing countries within the region.

The state has undergone a period of economic growth through its mass-digitalization which created a stable market economy and increased the amounts of trade in the area respectively. It is an essential technological hub serving different variants of manufacturing companies abroad ranging from the production of electronic devices and software-engineered programs to productive investments into the artificial intelligence industry.

Even their universities have been encouraged to implement these varieties of available technology.

The small nation is simultaneously famous for its large varieties of tourism activities where significant amounts of foreigners visit annually to see the many public attractions and historical sites in the various urban metropolises and national parks in the mountains. Most of the preferred activities of daily sightseeing routines are categorized as soft-tourism due to the flexibility of reaching and traveling to these destinations. Other activities such as hiking or climbing in the mountains are considered hard-tourism due to their far proximity from cities and the difficulties of getting to these designated nature reserves.

Due to the very-well maintained infrastructure throughout the country, it has been easier for visitors to travel by high-speed railways to reach many of the famous places scattered throughout the island. Many cities also share an extensive conventional railway network that spans between multiple provinces. The public transport systems within these metropolitan areas are also reliable and are integrated with the regional transportation system and managed solely by the national railway company guaranteeing a relatively easy way for foreign tourists to travel domestically.
