Talent

They aim to give every member a share in the manual labor, to give an equal reward to labor and to talent, and to unite a liberal culture with an education to labor.

Lots of talk in cryptoverse continuing about security tokens and newly released guidance on money transmitter rules. That is what brought me to today's quotes.

The scheme offers, by the economies of associated labor and expense, to make every member rich, on the same amount of property, that, in separate families, would leave every member poor.

Was recently presented with an idea about using tokens as an equity interest in a business - umm - security? Sorry.

Friendship and association are very fine things, and a grand phalanx of the best of the human race, banded for some catholic object; yes, excellent; but remember that no society can ever be so large as one man.

Team and organization building will be only as successful as the character of participants.

He in his friendship, in his natural and momentary associations, doubles or multiplies himself; but in the hour in which he mortgages himself to two or ten or twenty, he dwarfs himself below the stature of one.

Some may be reluctant to put all their energy into a single project, and may be wise to create "momentary" associations to avoid burn out.

But the men of less faith could not thus believe, and to such, concert appears the sole specific strength. I have failed, and you have failed, but perhaps together we shall not fail.

This is useful to remember - New Year's resolutions have probably already been forgotten. It may be entertaining to gather folks around you with similar failed resolutions, but it won't help to achieve them.

I have not been able either to persuade my brother or to prevail on myself, to disuse the traffic or the potation of brandy, but perhaps a pledge of total abstinence might effectively restrain us.

Had to laugh out loud with this - if I can't convince people close to me about the benefits of a proposition, there may be a flaw that a pledge will not correct.

The candidate my party votes for is not to be trusted with a dollar, but he will be honest in the Senate, for we can bring public opinion to bear on him.

You would think this would be obvious - but without fail, it is trotted out that peer pressure will cause a politician to behave in the best interest of constituents, even when past evidence is contrary to that hope.

But concert is neither better nor worse, neither more nor less potent, than individual force.

The individual forces within a handful of people is usually all it takes to get something accomplished - so it is not the number, it is the dedication of each individual who agrees to bind that force with others in the attainment of a goal.

Eventually, even if behavior is temporarily restrained, a person's true nature will come out.
