E.J.'s Happy Ending

in #tarc5 years ago

Who remembers E.J.? He's one of our rescues who was classified as "difficult," both because of breed mixture and fear issues. Last fall, we drove him to New Hampshire with several other dogs and he was subsequently placed in a wonderful home. Here are some photos of him enjoying a walk in the woods with his new family, who loves him very much.

TARC currently has two fundraisers going. One is with @fundition, found HERE. The other is a GoFundMe we launched this week. Check it out HERE. Please consider giving to either of these campaigns. The money you give is used to offer hope for dogs just like E.J. We have four here who have placement in New England with the same group that helped him. We need money to transport them. All contributions are tax deductible in the U.S.

I can't stress how rare an opportunity it is for difficult dogs to find placement. When they do, we move heaven and earth to get them there, even if it's halfway across the country. You can believe we've exhausted all possibilities nearer to us. The trend with "rescue" and no-kill sheltering these days is to accept only the most highly adoptable dogs so that the "numbers" look good on paper. This is also called "cherry picking." TARC has never engaged in this practice, therefore we do get stuck with a lot of "less desirable" dogs. When we find a group who will take them, it's nothing short of a miracle. Please give to help us make the dream a reality for Chance, Brother, Smiley, and Gabriel, pictured below. Thank you!

Yay for happy stories like this! It's a lot of work, but so worth it—saving lives. Thank you for all you do!
