People close to me know me. Of all the places I've been to, Baguio is one of my favorite. My attachment to it is something words can't contain. The cold weather. The awesome people. Their rich culture. The simple life. And the FOOD!

And a trip to the City of Pines will never be complete without a visit to AMARE LA CUCINA. If you are a pizza and pasta lover or just simply after an amazing gastronomic experience, then Amare is the place to be.

Since we came just a little after they opened, we were lucky to again get to prepare our pizza and cook it via their brick oven. This time we had the highly-recommended Gorgonzola Pizza. This Neapolitan Pizza is topped with prosciutto, arugula, sun-dried tomatoes, walnut, mozzarella, extra virgin olive oil and of course, gorgonzola cheese.

A great meal starts with a great salad. And while waiting for our pizza, we had Marianne's Special. It's a vegetable salad with arugula leaves, caramelized walnut and dried tomatoes topped with a special dressing. Veggies were fresh and crisp. Delicious!

For drinks, I had their Healthy Strawberry Smoothie. Mizi opted for Cold Matcha Green Tea Very refreshing!

We also ordered the Raclette Dip, Chicken Skewers, Truffle Pasta and my super favorite Wood Fired Ribs with Veggies paired with a glass of Chardonnay Wine.

And the pizza was ready! And I was surprised that there's not just one but two! Aside from the Gorgonzola, they also served us their bestseller, the Foie Gras Pizza! Gracie, Amare!

Once you enter Amare, it seems like you're home. It has a cozy vibe to it. Interiors are classy. It's comfortably cool considering there's a brick oven inside. Tables and chairs are pretty ergonomic.

Everything in Amare is equally good. But there are two which stood out for me. The Foie Gras Pizza is really a cut above the rest. All ingredients were cooked to perfection and every bite was simply heaven! And of course for certified meat lovers like me.

You keep coming back to Amare not just because of their great food but because of their people. Everyone was friendly and courteous. Special kudos to the very amiable Tin who was very patient answering my queries and making sure we had all that we need. To Edmark, I look forward to signing my plate soon! In La Union maybe? 😉

Don't expect fastfood prices at Amare. First off, they only use high-quality ingredients either sourced locally or abroad and second, their servings are huge and already good for sharing.

It is very noticeable that Amare values cleanliness. Floors are spotless. Fixtures are dust-free. Utensils, plates and glasses were obviously washed well. The Rest Room was tidy and tissues were available.

WISHLIST :

I've been to way too many food places and it's easy to think of things they may still improve on. But this time, it's kinda tough. Really can't think of any. Maybe a branch in Bulacan? Holy Cow! THAT will be the day!

VERDICT :

To my family, friends and followers, if you love and crave for authentic Italian Food, then Amare must be on top of your WHERE TO EAT in BAGUIO (Now Pasig and La Union too!) list. Non-negotiable. Chingpherd believes that Amare La Cucina is one of the foodie places you shouldn't miss! And I thank you!
