What you can see on the picture is my speedometer display in the car. It's just 2:36 a.m., the tank is empty and I was just on the highway towards Hamburg before I left here at the exit Gramschatzer Wald.
At this exit near Würzburg is the 24-Shell Autohof. This motorway service station is considered a small insider tip as it is the only service station with foot reflexology. The 3 km long barefoot hiking trail, which is popular with travellers, begins directly at the petrol station.
But for this kind of foot wellness it is too cold today and I don't have time either, because I still have to drive more than 600 km.
The gas station runs a beer garden with over 100 seats in summer and spoils the visitors with traditional Bavarian delicacies. In the restaurant you can get American-Style Burger fresh from the BURGER'Z-Grill, crispy sandwiches from SUBWAY and at a Yogurt Maker you can create your own individual frozen yogurt dessert.
For the children there is a play corner, outside there is a playground and of course a separate menu with small dishes suitable for children. Even the four-legged friends are catered for, as it is a dog-friendly gas stations.
I would love to stay there for a while and watch some TV. But my joy is for the coffee which I will take with me. A little tip: Do not order the filter coffee in any case, but the Cafe Crema from the vending machine, it simply tastes much better. The big cup costs € 3,50 and I think it is not possible to get a coffee cheaper at this time of the day.
Now I am sitting in the car again and will enjoy my coffee while driving.
