Hi There.....Are you a fan of classic Belgian food?
I am and I especially love Beef Stew with French Fries 😊
So a few weeks ago we were sitting at home hoping that the food we had put out of the freezer would be unfrozen in time for us to eat it.....But as you can already suspect it wasn't 😁
Does that happen to you too.....Or is it just me?
But no problem we decided to go out and get some fries then at the chippy
At least we thought so because when we got there we found out it was closed. Ok still nothing to worry about we could still pop in at the local chinese.
Yes.....You guessed it right.....It was closed too 😞
So we drove a bit further to another restaurant we knew and believe it or not.....It was closed.
I started looking up restaurants in the neighbourhood on my phone and luckily found one very close to us that we had never been to. It was called DE POORT VAN CYRIEL
So I decided to take the Beef Stew and my hubby ordered a Steak Bearnaise for him.
Both dishes were very much to our liking and were served with a tasty salad.
I do plan on going back there some time in the summer because they seem to have a very cosy terrace too 😊
After dinner my hubby still ordered a cappuchino with cream
They have a lot of special menu's too.....The only negative for me was that the price was a bit higher than we expected.

I don't know much about Belgian cuisine. I never pictured that fries would go with a beef stew! I guess I will have to give a try one day!
