A blind date is a tough one, as its hard to guage what the other person like to eat. I've decided Xin Cuisine fit the bill in several fronts :

  1. It is situated at a Hotel (Holiday Inn Atrium)
  2. It's ambience is classic, and play into the smart and modern theme
  3. It's price is reasonable for the high standard in quality of the food. The food can itself be a conversational piece.

The classic "white for everything" is minimalist and is great for the modern look.

When you are seated down, there is this tiny appetizer... this changes from time to time, but this round we were greeted to small pieces of crispy fried beancurd skin.

It's crispy skin rpast pork belly is a good starter with accompanied mustard. But I like to mix it with soya sauce and some chili too.

Crunchy Jelly fish with sweet and sour sauce.. I think this is good also... but avoid this if your date is a Westerner. Some people do not like the Jelly Fish's texture

The roast chicken is a MUIST order. Order half a chicken if it's just for two persons. The meat is juicy and falls off the bone. Definitely a winner.

This one is a vegetarian option. The basket is edible and is made of yam. Light and delightful indeed.

This one is easy. Fish with Vegetables, you get to choose what kind of vegetables you would like to pair with the fish slices. Anything from asparagus to Kai Lan. The choice is yours.

One more thing, the staff is attentive and effective. Bonus when you're on a blind date. They can hold a decent conversation, and can answer about questions on the food and services.. Always polite ! Bonus !!

I definitely STRONGLY recommend this restaurant to ANY occasion. And definitely also a STRONG contender for the first blind date.

As a Westerner, I'm in full agreement with avoiding the jelly fish ;-P

What’s the definition of a blind date? Someone you chat to online and exchanged photos and finally met up for a meal. Is talkative a blind date ?
