A friend told me about Shuei Wu Restaurant recently and said its a great place for a casual meal and to chill out afterwards. I went to check it out last week.
Shuei Wu means dancing water and the focus of the restaurant is a big pond in the center. First of all let me take you through the main entrance. It look quite grand from the outside.
When I went through the door I was greeted by a few buuddha statues. It looks very spacious and welcoming. All the seats were big comfy sofa, very home feel only my home isn't any where as cool as this.
We were led to a table by the pond. There are fish swimming inside the pond including a Koi and some other fish that I didn't recognise. Bird cages hung down from the ceiling. There were no birds inside, they were just for decorative purposes. It all looked pretty zen especially with the bank of windows high above that let the light through.
Shuei Wu Restaurant serves Hong Kong style food. My wife ordered her favourite beef stir fried rice noodles. She said it was very good apart from the rice noodles which isn't proper rice noodles. You can't seem to get them in Taiwan. These are a localised variety which are a thicker.
I ordered an XO sauce stir fry seafood noodle, a classic Hong Kong fast food cafe dish. XO sauce is spicy and made of dried scallops. This dish was very tasty.
For drinks, my wife ordered the famous Taiwan bubble tea. The bubbles are served separately and you add them into the tea yourself. I ordered a normal ice tea. See how massive it is when my wife tried to pick it up?
I'm going to end my post with a photo from the toilet which I think is quite amusing. I left it to the end of the post after the food so it didn't ruin your appetite. Zen all the way. And I'll be back again

A very zen place. Wow, they separate the pearls with the drinks :P
First time I've seen it as well. Not a bad idea actually as the bubbles sometimes become a bit mushy if they're in the tea for too long
