My 1st Pay With Steem Experience

How Can I Ever Forget?

It was 15th March 2018, we ( @veenang @viverridae & I) arrived Kuala Lumpur after a 2.5 hour flight from Kota Kinabalu for work over the weekend. After checking into our respective hotels, the first place we headed to was Big Hug Burger Place as we had earlier planned to meet up with some Steemians from #TeamMalaysia. For @veenang & myself, it was the first time to meet the gang and we were very excited this particular restaurant as it was owned and operated by one of our very own Steemian, @danielwong.

So since we have read so many posts and food reviews about this burger joint, of course we very excited for the meetup (and the food too)!

Paying with Steem

@danielwong who is the proud owner of Big Hug Burger (BHB) started to accept Steem or SBD as a mode of payment at their restaurant, called the Big Hug Initiative @bighugin. He is a fine example and one of the early birds for Malaysian who started to accept Steem and incorporating Steem into his bussiness as a means of business growth. So, of course I was excited about paying with Steem for my meal. Hence, this was offically my first time using the cryptocurrency that I earned from Steemit by blogging. It felt really good, it felt like it was a FREE meal because I didn't have to pay with my Ringgit!

Overall, I'd have to rate my burger meal a 7/10. The burger itself was delicous and beef patty was well marinated coupled with crispy bacon, lettuce, cheese and the "secret sauce", the burger just melts in your mouth. The fries were perfectly cooked and salted and drinks were refillable! How awesome, right!

Simply Me

Hi! I'm @gelfire from Borneo, the land below the wind called Sabah, Malaysia. I'm a Property Valuer by profession. I love to travel, like to learn about different cultures, love exploring food and have a passion for home and architecture design.

I joined the Steemit community because it allows me to explore ALL the things that I love and more, ALL in one place! And I get to meet new friends from all walks of life along the way! Steemit also taught me a new way of life, the *"crypto world"* which I am learning day by day, new things. Unlike any other social media platforms, in Steemit we also get rewarded for writing good or creating great content (in our blogs) and or by commenting too.

Oh wow! I remembered the good, delicious taste in my mouth. Okay, that doesn't sound right. Haha. But, yes! I wanna eat one of those again!

Wow! That was really some time ago! Too bad the PV128 branch has called it a day; while the Subang branch is still operating.

Gotta save up again for the next makan session.

Right now I am on survival mode until I finish up all my stocked up food I found from my moving. haha.

Yeah, we heard that this branch closed down too! Good thing we still made it there!

So next time we shall meet at subang branch? Hehe... start saving now already! 😄

Yes, and probably the other one will be the food truck, Taman Melawati that @danielwong mentioned.

I also want to save money to fly to KK. I haven't been to KK for almost 10 years now. I am pretty sure so much has changed.

I never managed to climb up the mount Kinabalu. If I still have strength I will want to try that again.

Hehehehe so good to reminisce this, @gelfire. It was nice meeting you and now that you mentioned, it really felt like we eat for "free" when we have another wallet that we can operate from! :)

It was good times for sure @happycrazycon & thank you for the warm hospitality that you and @dainelwong showed us. And yes, “free” somewhat makes it more worthwhile/delicious! Haha 😆

Wow! This seems like a long time ago although in reality it was only months ago. Glad to be part of your experience

Right... I also feel like it was ages ago, but actually, it was only a couple of months back! Haha... was good to meet you and the rest. Hopefully another meetup soon? 😁
