It's day 2 and I have yet to get into downtown proper. Am at the practice rink now, watching the Canadian pairs while waiting for Julian's session to come on.
For the uninitiated, pair skating is when a couple skates together and they perform jumps, spins and the girl gets thrown up in the air and caught again. All the while having to look good and making it look easy.. To me, this is risky business and it's very demanding as synchronicity has to be spot on. One can only imagine how many hours a pair has to put into training together for this. But they are so beautiful to watch.
