How do we know that the community is growing?

in #teammalaysia6 years ago

Greetings my esteemed Steemians,

Imagine what was it like to be the first community in your place, let say, 100 of years ago.
I could imagine, the first things that the community will do is to create other sub-communities to look after the security, food, territory expansion and etc.

The sub-community will then expand by creating more smaller communities if they have more people in order to be more effective to support the biggest community.

At the end of the day, all the communities are doing is to support the biggest community to grow systematically.

vlog

I was so interested in the vlog posted by @danieldoughty, my good friend who introduced me to steemit, here.

It's all about concentrating to help #teammalaysia grow.
Agree with what he said at 0:40.

We should keep #teammalaysia tag. It should not be a separate entity. Especially if you want that tag to become a trend.

With regard to his comment in vlog, I think why the idea surfaced up was the same reason why other communities were created within #teammalaysia in the first place.
Minus the tag.

It is more like a support group per se.
#myjunior which was created by @elizacheng for our kids, musician community for our musicians. The cartoonist community. The architect community. The communities were created to provide support. They all belong to a bigger community under the #teammalaysia tag.
These communities will hasten the trending of the #teammalaysia tag.
This is one of the sign that #teammalaysia community is growing.

Create another tag?

Any communities created in #teammalaysia should not create another tag. What they can do is to use an existing tag like what we (@papanog, @wilsonkoh and @davidngtv) did. We use the tag #meetup on top of our MAIN TAG which was #teammalaysia (I love this tag)😁.

We were doing a trial on how to support the newbies by achieving micro objectives.

Therefore I agree that #teammalaysiasabah shouldn't be created as a tag, which was by my friend said at 1: 35.

**Create smaller communities **

Whether we know it or not, there is already a steemians community in Sabah under the bigger community . We can call our community anything we want, example #teammalaysiasabah community within the bigger #teammalaysia community.

The creation of communities within #teammalaysia is a good sign that #teammalaysia is getting bigger as mentioned earlier on.
And it is also shows that decentralisation can be copied by anybody and help others to grow bigger. The true voluntary commitment to help someone else to grow.

A good example that #teammalaysia in Sabah is growing with the creation of #slc or #steemitlittlecircle. It is a small community that is supporting each other which was created by @heartbeat1515.

Ok Bah Mic open contest is also a very good example that the community of steemians in Sabah is getting bigger. A very good effort from @danieldoughty side. Getting a group of steemians who love to sing.

Therefore I strongly agree with what @danieldoughty had said in his vlog about not creating a new tag.

Conclusion

So my advice to my fellow steemians in Sabah. Don't create another tag for #teammalaysia Sabah. Instead, use an existing tag on top of our #teammalaysia tag whenever possible. Even if you want to have another tag, put #teammalaysia as the main tag and followed by the new tag.
As what we did after our #masterclasskk. We created a temporary tag.

Create as many smaller groups as possible.

Imagine steemit platform without the communities around the world.

Imagine #teammalaysia without the smaller communities to support it to grow.

Imagine teammalaysiasabah without the support of smaller communities in Sabah.

Growing smaller community in Sabah will help #teammalaysiasabah to grow and directly help #teammalaysia to grow which eventually help #teammalaysia tag as one of the top trending tags on the planet.

Hope that by now, you know what is the sign of a growing community and embrace it.
