More Collaborations
We made new friends lately and the most recent one are the people from #teammalaysiababes. There are quite a number of individuals in this community that are involved in campaigning for special causes. After understanding their struggle and community we felt that there are something that #steem-cartoon can further enhance for everyone's benefit. The idea is as follows:-
- Better education on woman's right through cartoons and illustration
- Outreach programs to homes and institutions that provides for such causes
- Talks and programs to empower
- Introducing Steemit as a viable platform to engage and to spread awareness
We gave these initiatives a good thought and since there are quite a number of woman that needs help be it though education or income generation and they are still unaware of the blockchain and how this new social media can change their life, we think that there is a good room sharing our initiatives.
Blogging as a Source of Income
There are many single moms out there in need of some form of assistance and financial assistance will always come in handy. The social media platform will also be a good ground for these individuals to share their struggles and since steemit has always been a community of engagement, they will likely find their support and assistance through this platform.
We understand that the plight of these mothers has always been the difficulty to undertake new job opportunities as their time is often caught in juggling different household chores such as sending the kids to school, cooking for them, cleaning after them, managing the household, buying groceries and the task is endless. That makes them a very unlikely candidate for a fixed 9-5 job. Hence, the flexibility that this platform offers may be the best solution.
Empowering Through Education
We also understand that there are many things that holds one back and the major hindrance has always been knowledge. These woman may not be fully aware of their rights, the support groups or how to empower themselves as they have dedicated their life to their family, their children and lastly themselves. Hence, to empower these individuals through several programs educating them on their legal rights on issues such as:
- custody of child
- proprietary rights in a marriage
- domestic violence
- child abuse
Of course the education does not merely stop at the issues above. This education would also spread to help these women understand what the blockchain is, how to operate a steemit account and how to engage the community within steemit so that their existence is steemit has an impact.
In the next week or so, several initiatives will be announced and rolled out in stages and there is no better person to make this announcement other than @angiechin28 who took the lead spearheading such effort.
I live in a country where people still fail to understand issues of fundamental rights. I live in this country where incest is still rampant in the rural areas. The woman witnessing such traumatic events often have no where to turn to because they felt powerless to stop the men from committing these crimes. They need to be armed with knowledge to prepare them for such situation.
Sharing Our Stories
We believe that everyone have their story to share. Their struggles, their failures and their accomplishment. These stories are gems and if experience is what shape us to be who we are, the impactful events are best told than to be forgotten.
There are many stories that we heard that are inspirational, educational and simply astonishing. There are no better way to document and present these stories in the form of visual art, a far more engaging reach than the traditional words. We are considering a series that focus on woman issues through art and the message would be more impactful and it would transcend all languages.
Let us inject a little fun and a little humour in this effort and hopefully we will be able to make a difference through the Steem Blockchain. We cannot guarantee a smooth journey but we can definitely guarantee that you will make some real friends and you will have a great time doing so.

Awesome @perennial! Good initiative on supporting women and children! Next week, 8th March is International Women's Day. Would be good if some event/ initiative can be organised to celebrate women on this day! Just a thought!
If there is a good crowd and @angiechin28 is up for it...i am fully supportive of the idea. On top of that even if there isnt any event we can always have a drink or makan makan.

I believe part of what is still affecting the world today is the fact that our women are not standing on their feet to claim what is theirs. The world can be a better place if we have women placed in strategic places that is politically. The education of a woman will go a long way in achieving this aim
