Our boss told me that this has been the worst year for flooding. We have a moat around the yard but it just got overwhelmed. Once the rivers burst their banks their isnt a lot that can be done. I've heard that much of the drain blockage is the result of all the housing that's being built. Not only are they building on top of flood plains but also the dust and debris from the construction has apparently silted up all the drains systems. As for the council, they've done very little in the way of maintenance. We've been told they're all bankrupt, not a penny in the pot for maintenance. More a case of being corrupt than bankrupt 🤣
