I used Kubuntu for several years, but a while back decided to try standard Ubuntu as it might have better support. It's definitely different, but I'm used to it now. I like the familiarity of KDE. It generally acts as I expect it to. The Ubuntu people do seem to have drivers well sorted these days. I rarely have issues with any hardware.
I do have a dual boot with Win10, but I just never use it. It was installed as my son needed it for some school stuff, but now he has his own laptop.
So far I'm really happy I made the switch. I was almost shocked when those drivers worked and Kubuntu recognized the card and installed them for me. They seem to be lightyear's ahead of the other distros on driver issues. The multi-media codecs too. I was delighted when I realized I wasn't going to have to reconfigure all this. I thought about going straight Ubuntu, but I just wasn't ready to give up KDE yet.
